We live along what was once the Kamakura Kaidou - a medieval roadway that connected Kyoto and Kamakura. It predates the much more famous Tokaidou, which connected Kyoto and Tokyo.
As this area was famous at the time for a certain large temple and it`s pagoda, it was a popular place to stop along the way. [...]
